THE Port of NAIA under Collector Yasmin Mapa, intercepted a shipment of illegal drugs at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) in Pasay City worth P1.5 million and another shipment of rare Agarwood bound for Dubai, UAE.

Mapa, in her report to Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio, said P1.564 million worth of shabu sent from California, USA, weighing 230 grams, was confiscated by members of the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG), last November 13.

The shipment, which has been turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), was consigned to an unidentified individual in Taguig City.

In another successful interdiction last November 6, members of the Environmental Protection Compliance Division (EPCD) under the Enforcement Group (EG), intercepted two packages containing rare and highly valued Agarwood, also known as ‘Lapnisan,’ worth P4.3 million.

The packages, declared as “mahogany chips,” were shipped by an individual from San Juan City to a recipient in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
