THE entire leadership of the Bureau of Customs under Commissioner Ariel. F. Nepomuceno is committed to hitting the agency’s ₱1 trillion revenue goal after another milestone in collection in the first nine months of the year.

“To all our men and women in the Bureau of Customs, the ₱1-trillion goal is ambitious, but our performance shows that we are on the right track,” Commissioner Nepomuceno said.

At the recently concluded Collectors’ Conference hosted by the Port of Davao under District Collector Maita Acevedo, the Customs Chief also reiterated his standing directive to expedite the auction and condemnation of seized and forfeited goods and overstaying containers to ensure their timely disposition in accordance with the law.

He also renewed his call for integrity across the organization, warning officials and employees that the Bureau will continue to strictly monitor operations and take appropriate action against those found engaging in corruption, unlawful conduct, or other illicit activities.

Official data showed that from January to September, the BOC recorded its highest collection at ₱757.406 billion, which is ₱8.913 billion higher than its assigned target of ₱748.494 billion for the period.

The figure is also significantly higher– ₱55.735 billion or 7.9 percent more— on a year-on-year comparison.

For September, the data showed actual collection of ₱93.339 billion, exceeding the ₱89.184 billion monthly target by ₱4.155 billion or 4.7 percent positive deviation equivalent to ₱13.056 billion, or 16.3 percent higher compared to the collection in September 2025.

“Sa loob pa lang ng siyam na buwan, nakalikom na tayo ng ₱757.4 billion, nalampasan ang ating target, at nakapagtala ng 7.9 percent growth compared to the same period last year.

“Let us look at this goal not as a responsibility of a few, but as a shared mission of the entire Bureau.

“At ang tagumpay ng Bureau ay hindi lang tagumpay ng ahensiya kundi tagumpay ng buong bansa.  Every peso we properly collect goes back to our people, supporting the services and programs they need.

“More than the numbers, these results reflect your hard work, dedication, and commitment to public service.

“Kaya hinihingi ko ang patuloy ninyong suporta at pagkakaisa habang tinatahak natin ang huling tatlong buwan ng taon,” Commissioner Nepomuceno said.

As part of the program, Commissioner Nepomuceno again led in the recognition of collection districts and offices that demonstrated outstanding performance in revenue collection, enforcement, cargo disposition, and legal action.

Recognized for meeting and exceeding their collection targets were the Ports of San Fernando, Manila, NAIA, Batangas, Legazpi, Iloilo, Cebu, Tacloban, Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, Davao, Subic, Clark, Aparri, and Limay.

The Port of Manila, Port of Cagayan de Oro, and Manila International Container Port (MICP) were likewise recognized as among the top-performing ports in the conduct of public auctions.

Special recognition was also given to offices and personnel involved in pursuing legal action on delayed and abandoned balikbayan boxes, advancing accountability in cases involving luxury vehicle importations, and leading the successful enforcement operation against ₱1.428 billion worth of illicit vape products, including the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS)-MICP and the Enforcement and Security Service (ESS).
