ALL 28 luxury vehicles linked to the Discaya family are now in the custody of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) after the family surrendered the remaining 16 units on September 4, the agency said in a statement.
The surrender follows the earlier recovery of 12 vehicles during a court-ordered search at the St. Gerrard Construction General Contractor & Development Corp. compound in Pasig City on September 2.
The 16 vehicles surrendered to the BOC include a Mercedes Benz GLE, Land Rover Range Rover LWB, Land Rover Defender, Cadillac Escalade ESV, Ford Bronco, Mercedes Benz GLS 350, BMW X5 30d, Jaguar F-Pace 2.0D, Porsche Cayenne V6, Volvo XC90, Mercedes Benz Avant, Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, Mercedes Benz Sprinter, ATV Quicksand, GMC Yukon Denali, and an ATV Gray.
All 28 vehicles have been sealed and placed under round-the-clock security. They are now under strict watch by customs agents and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
“This latest development will greatly assist us in verifying the importation records of these vehicles.
“We will assure the public that we will thoroughly check on compliance and documentation of these vehicles.
“If violations are found, we will ensure that appropriate penalties are imposed in accordance with the law,” said Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno.
