THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) under Commissioner Ariel. F Nepomuceno continues its march towards achieving its historic goal of generating ₱1.011 full year revenue despite a slight dip in its actual collection in October.
Regardless, the agency announced that its generated revenue in October of ₱97.463 billion, down by ₱565 million from its assigned target of ₱98.028 billion remains its “highest monthly collection in history.” Officials pointed to the decline in import volume during the month owing to the sluggish economic landscape here and abroad.
Nevertheless, comparative data showed that October collections exceeded the ₱82.962 billion collected in October 2025 by ₱14.501 billion, achieving 99.42 percent of the month’s ₱98.028 billion revenue target.
Total collections from January to October 2026 meanwhile reached ₱853.662 billion, also the highest for the first ten months of any year in the agency’s history.
This surpassed the ₱846.522 billion target by ₱7.140 billion and is ₱69.029 billion higher than the ₱784.633 billion collected in the same period in 2025.
Commissioner Nepomuceno noted the new records are the result of stricter collection monitoring, improved customs administration, and the collective efforts of Customs personnel nationwide.
“Every record we achieve reflects the dedication and hard work of our Customs personnel nationwide. My heartfelt thanks to all our Collection Districts for their tireless efforts and commitment to delivering results,” said Commissioner Nepomuceno.
“Ang bawat pisong nakokolekta natin ay may katumbas na serbisyong maihahatid sa ating mga kababayan. Ito ang nagbibigay ng higit na kabuluhan sa ating trabaho,” he added.
The positive development has given confidence to the Customs Chief that they are on track in achieving—even possibly surpassing—their assigned target of ₱1.011 trillion this year.
The BOC now only needs to collect over ₱157 billion in November and December to achieve its desired result as it already reached 84.44 percent target.
“With our cumulative collection continuing to exceed its target, we remain confident in our ability to achieve our full-year revenue goal. We are determined to reach the ₱1 trillion mark, and we will give our very best to achieve it,” Commissioner Nepomuceno confidently stated.
He also called on waterfront stakeholders to support the national effort by paying the legal taxes and duties due the government for every transaction.
“Sa nalalabing dalawang buwan, umaasa kami sa patuloy na suporta at tamang pagbabayad ng duties and taxes ng ating stakeholders upang sama-sama nating maabot ang makasaysayang target na ito para sa bayan,” he added.
Commissioner Nepomuceno also assured that the agency would continue to fulfill its commitments to stakeholders through clearer processes, faster service, and regular engagement to address their legitimate needs and concerns.
