THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) has nullified the result of the competency-based written examination for customs examiners and appraisers (Customs Operations Officer III) has been nullified “due to a cheating incident.”
The BOC’s Human Resource Management Division (HRMD) under the Internal Administration Group (IAG) and the Human Resource Merit Promotion and Selection Board (MRMPSB) considered the incident serious enough to merit the cancellation of the result of the 2-days examination that was held from August 28 to August 29.
The memorandum circulated by the HRMPSB said the cheating incident resulted “in the unauthorized circulation of questionnaire thereby compromising the integrity of the said examination.”
The undated memorandum was signed by Director III John Simon, Administration Office and alternate chair, HRMPSB; Khristine Jane Melencio, HRMD Acting Chief and Atty. Simeon Caparroso, representing the BOC Employees Association (BOCEA).
A new examination date would soon be announced while those involved would be slapped with administrative penalties, the HRMPSB added.
