Swiss passenger with P40.8 million shabu nabbed

THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) said it has apprehended a woman Swiss national upon arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 after her luggage yielded 6 kilos of shabu valued at P40.8 million.

In a statement dated September 15, the BOC said the still unidentified passenger arrived on board a flight from Abu Dhabi.

An X-ray scanning of the luggage showed suspicious images that resulted to its 100 percent physical examination and the discovery of the illegal drugs.

The contraband and the suspect have been turned over to Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for proper disposition and further investigation.

The interdiction came in the heels of a major shabu seizure also at Terminal 3 last July 14, when 44 kilos of shabu were seized from two passengers. It was the biggest shabu seizure thus far this year at the NAIA (Pinoy Exposé, July16, 2025).
