BUREAU Of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno reassured local traders and small businessmen that the agency is their “partner for growth” and in developing their foreign markets for their products.
The Customs Chief made the assurance during the ‘5thAnnual ASEAN DHL GoTrade Summit held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) last October 6 aimed at boosting the presence in the global market of local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
“We will be your partner in your aspiration to grow, deliver the wealth that we need, change the fundamental structure of our economy.
“We must become a net-exporting country. We must cease from being a net-importer and that’s the only way to go. In our own little backyard, we will deliver to you our role and we will help you grow.
“We will help you thrive. You have our word, and you have our commitment,” Commissioner Nepomuceno said.
Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina Aldeguer-Roque for her part shared the government’s dedication to helping the business community reach its export goals with the help of the BOC.
“Commissioner Ariel and I worked on a lot of things. To help, really move the shipments of the large corporations as well as the small and medium. Commissioner, thank you for all the assistance. Late at night na-cocontact po ‘yan.
“Then he acts to secure and ensure that the businesses can get their shipment out on time,” Secretary Roque bared during the event.
