Woman passenger sneaking in ₱102 million shabu at NAIA arrested

A WOMAN passenger from Malaysia was immediately collared by Customs authorities on arrival at Terminal 1 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) after her baggage yielded more than 15 kilos of shabu worth ₱102 million.

In a statement last March 25, NAIA District Collector Atty. Yasmin O. Mapa reported to Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno said the illegal drugs were found hidden inside several wooden chopping boards brought in by the suspect whose nationality was not disclosed.

The passenger was flagged after suspicious images were detected during x-ray screening of her baggage.

The total haul reached 15.024 kilos valued at ₱102,163,200.00, Mapa said.

Separate seizure at Port of Clark

On the same day at the Port of Clark, District Collector Jairus Reyes informed Commissioner Nepomuceno on the seizure of ₱3.536 million worth of shabu from a parcel that originated in Zambia and for delivery to an address in Cavite province.

Reyes said the contraband in five sachets was found hidden inside a motor vehicle filter.
