LAST September 5, 2025, American media reported the Pentagon’s proposal to shift its defense posture from confronting the “China threat” to protection of the homeland and the Western Hemisphere, a development described as a stunning reversal of US foreign policy.
The shift is mentioned in the new US’ National Defense Strategy architecture drafted by known anti-China super-hawk, Department of War Undersecretary Eldrige Colby.
For me, this indicates a potential thawing of relations with China and another sign of President Donald Trump “softening up” for his face-to-face meeting with President Xi Jinping now under preparation.
This apparent “thaw” in policy is clearly not reflected on the ground in Asia. As former US Marines turned anti-war advocate, Brian Berletic noted, America’s “regime change” strategy remains in full operation, destabilizing countries around China.
It started in Indonesia, then Nepal and now the Philippines. The Philippines’ September 21 anti-corruption mass demonstrations consisted of three main forces, two of which are US proxies in support of American puppet, Bongbong Marcos.
The first of the proxies is the well-funded communist-led groups that converged at the Luneta that managed to mobilize the largest crowd among the three anti-corruption demonstrations.
A splinter group from their crowd went to the Presidential Palace to create mayhem resulting in dozens of injured and one dead – a perfect scene for the global media funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and the Open Society of global villain George Soros, to highlight the “instability” of Asian countries around China.
The second proxy force is the “Yellows” and the “Pinks” personified by Kiko Aquino-Dee and his ‘Tindig’ group. Dee is the grandson of former president Corazon Aquino, the US-installed puppet in Malacañang in 1986.
The position of this proxy group is stated by Dee when he said, “Our group has not agreed on any call for Marcos’ impeachment or resignation.”
This call is America’s ‘Plan A’ to keep BBM compliant and in place by deflecting his culpability to the abstraction of corruption by Dee’s group.
The genuine anti-corruption rally convened at Gate 4 of Camp Aguinaldo, headquarters of the Armed Forces that was led by retired Air Force general Romeo Poquiz.
He certainly captured the imagination of the public with spreading social media posts like:
“Every day that passes gives time for thieves to clean up their acts. ICI (the Independent Commission for Infrastructure) is designed for escape and evasion.”
Another is, “The Americans are running our country now. The footprints of the CIA are all over. May oras din kayo (Your moment will come)!”
Meanwhile, the Chinese Embassy and the Association for Philippine-China Understanding (APCU) concluded its 14th Manila Forum last September 17.
During the open forum, a Filipino mariner raised the problem of the Philippines’ 7,600+ islands having only 36 lighthouses.
The world-renowned forum main speaker, Victor Gao, responded: “China can build thousands of lighthouses you need!”
As Gao further elaborated, “China is the best country for you to work with, because China has the largest financial pool. China has the largest manufacturing capabilities, and China can really work with the Philippines completely as equals.
“We will never hold a gun at anyone in the Philippines. That is the reality.”
China offers light, the US only offers chaos.
