Sultan Princess Jacel schools ‘Jet Skiers’ on PH-China ties

75
CHINA and the Philippines have been moving firmly forward in “resetting ties” with the renewed spirit of independence of the Philippines’ Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) leadership and the very dynamic new Chinese Ambassador HE Jing Quan.

Within the three months since this renaissance of cooperation started, the economic harvest has begun with Chinese tourists to the Philippines doubling from 2025, topping all other countries in the region and their dollars pouring into our economy.

The Philippine Export Processing Zone Authority  (PEZA) reported that 6 Chinese firms have expressed interest to invest ₱4.6-billion in the electronics and industrial sectors, and China’s Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) continued its efforts to fund major Philippine projects such as the Cavite-Bataan Interlink Bridge, Laguna Lakeshore Road Network and Metro Manla Rail Transit Line 4.

China’s aid to the Philippines in the grip of the current oil supply crisis has been essential in alleviating the “emergency” the government declared as China assured continued delivery of Chinese petroleum, LPG and fertilizer to the country despite its own reserve constraints.

But despite these positive gains for the country, some ‘negativists,’ myopic and politicized US proxy elements continue to distract from the progress and try to drag anti-cooperation issue into the limelight.

One anti-PH-China cooperation rabble rousing was the recent “Atin Ito” junket to the Philippine claimed Pagasa, including Sandy Cay.

It had all the markings of an expensive pleasure trip with a party of 200 “fishers, activists and media” carried by a large ship named MV Kapitan Oca, entertained in a concert by a musical band, accompanied by Philippine Coast Guard ships and jet skis – including the much-publicized one ridden by Akbayan politico Dadah Kiram Ismula.

Akbayan is the partylist group associated with US-funded activists, civil society and anti-Duterte groups and its leading member Senator Riza Hontiveros is associated with U.S. psyops operators like ex-USAF Col. Raymond Powell.

Expectedly, Rep. Dadah Kiram Ismael’s role in the anti-China propaganda project of Atin Ito at Pagasa and her middle name “Kiram” prompted a response from a real Kiram – Princess Jacel Kiram of the Sultanate of Sulu.

This is what Princess Jacel posted to clarify matters: “We recognize and respect the political acts of Representative Ismula, such as her symbolic jetski ride along the seashore of Pag-asa island.

“However, it must be clearly stated that she is in no way connected to the Kiram family of the Sultanate of Sulu.

“The Kiram family’s lineage extends from the Sulu Sultanate’s historic roots in the Philippines to Shandong, China, where the descendants of Sultan Paduka Batara (the Sultan of Sulu who was buried in China) have flourished for centuries.

“Today, those descendants account for approximately 3,000 families who live honorably as Chinese citizens.

“This enduring connection has fostered a very strong people-to-people relationship, built on mutual respect and shared history. Generations of the Sultanate of Sulu have remained in good standing as a people of Sulu, now a proud part of the Philippines.

“The Kiram family’s heritage is fundamentally cultural, spiritual, and historical.

“It remains strictly independent of partisan politics and is not engaged in any territorial or diplomatic disputes between China and the Philippines.”

Through over a thousand years of good neighborly relationship, through the anti-colonial struggle, through the fight against imperialist Japan, China and the Philippines have been locked arm-in-arm.

This goes on today and will surge into the future.
