THE Judiciary and Permanent Select Intelligence Committees of the US Congress on Thursday, April 20, 2023, sent a 5-page letter to US State Secretary Anthony Blinken seeking clarification on the role he and the Biden campaign team played in covering up the contents of the laptop of Hunter Biden, the scandal-plagued son of Pres. Joe Biden. According to a testimony, Blinken played a central role in spinning the laptop controversy during the 2020 US presidential election as a “Russian information operation” that helped tilt the votes in Biden’s favor against incumbent Donald Trump.

The letter to Blinken was signed by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio, 4th district), chair, Committee on the Judiciary and Rep. Michael Turner (R-Ohio, 10th district), chair, Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

The explosive revelation by former CIA Director, Michael ‘Mike’ Morell, is now circulating on social media, particularly, ‘Twitter,’ and vindicated the New York Post which first reported some of the laptop’s content, particularly Hunter Biden’s dealings with the Ukraine regime in a frontpage story on October 14, 2020.

Morell is a former CIA analyst who rose to the top to became Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) acting director twice, between 2011 to 2013.

The released emails disclosed Hunter’s close association with Ukrainian oligarchs and officials thru a company called ‘Burisma’ where he is a director since 2014, when his father is the US Vice President under the Obama administration. Burisma is a private company dealing in gas and oil exploration.

The firm and its officers were supposed to be investigated for corrupt activities by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General, but this was stopped when Volodymyr Zelensky became president in 2019.

Hunter’s laptop was found “abandoned” at a repair shop in Delaware and some of its contents started appearing in the Internet months later.

As a consequence of the releases, Hunter is now under investigation by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for tax fraud and foreign lobbying. Already, an IRS whistleblower is seeking protection thru the US’ witness protection program claiming top White House officials are “interfering” with the criminal investigation of the son of the US president.

The surfacing of the laptop’s content in social and mainstream media is to the damage of Biden, then Democratic Party candidate who was pitted against Pres. Donald Trump of the Republican Party.

To date, several ‘forensic analysis’ of the laptop’s contents initiated by other US mainstream media like The New York Times and The Washington Post proved them to be “authentic,” including those released by the Post.

“Subsequent reporting revealed that the New York Post story was not, as the public statement claimed and then-Vice President Biden parroted, part of a ‘Russian information operation,’” the committees told Blinken.

“This revelation nearly two years after the fact, however, was little consolation. The concerted efforts to dismiss the serious allegations in the Post’s reporting and to suppress any discussion of the story played a substantial role in the 2020 election,” they pointed out further.

The committees were also referring to the concerted action taken by the US mainstream and social media giants like Facebook and Twitter to immediately blocked—and even delete—all articles related to the laptop issue in support of the fake narrative versus Russia.

Morell disclosed that on October 17, 2020, or 3 days after the Post’s story came out, Anthony Blinken, senior adviser to the Biden campaign camp, reached out to him “to discuss the Hunter Biden laptop story.”

Two days after their telephone conversation and exchange of emails, on October 19, 2020, 51 US top intelligence officials to include 4 former CIA directors, Morell among them, issued a public statement downplaying the Post’s report by claiming the story “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”

The release of the statement came just in time before the presidential debate between Trump and Biden held on October 22, 2020, and helped discredit Trump’s accusation of corrupt dealings by the Bidens with the regime and oligarchs in Ukraine.

Morell, in his testimony, was unabashed in telling he helped the Biden camp in propagating the lie about Russia’s fake role thru Blinken because he wanted Biden to win against Trump.

“There were two intents,” Morell said. “One intent was to share our concern with the American people that the Russians were playing on this issue; and two, it was [to] help Vice President Biden.”

You wanted to help the Vice President, why,” Jordan asked. “Because I wanted him to win the election,” Morell said. Chairman Jordan: You wanted him to win; that’s why? Yes, sir.”

The demand letter ended by asking Blinken to “identify all people with whom you communicated about the inception, drafting, editing, signing, publishing, or promotion of the ‘Public Statement on the Hunter Biden Emails’ dated October 19, 2020, during the period October 14, 2020, to November 24, 2020.”

Likewise, Blinken was also asked to “produce all documents and communications” referring or relating to the public statement “sent or received between October 14, 2020, and November 24, 2020.”

“Please produce this material as soon as possible but no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 4, 2023, the demand letter to Blinken stressed.

The lawmakers noted the issue refers to Blinken in his “personal capacity” and not his being the top official of the State Department in charge of US foreign policy.

“Although our requests do not implicate Department equities, and accordingly there should be no basis for the Department to interfere with our oversight, we have addressed these requests to you in your official capacity initially as a courtesy.

“If you are represented by private counsel in this matter, please ask your attorney to contact Judiciary Committee staff promptly on your behalf,” the letter added.
