DOJ gathers stakeholders over Camp John Hay controversy

THE Department of Justice (DOJ), in coordination with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), held a ‘stakeholder town hall meeting’ in Camp John Hay, Baguio City last June 17, as part of its investigation into the alleged fraudulent activities and questionable dealings involving the Camp John Hay Development Corporation (CJHDevCo).

This, after the DOJ received complaints on the alleged fraudulent transactions and irregular sublease arrangements involving CJHDevCo management.

As far back as April 2025, the DOJ had already created a special task force to lead the fact-finding and investigative work related to the case composed of representatives from the DOJ, NBI, and relevant support agencies.

“The Department of Justice takes these concerns seriously. Our priority is to uphold the rule of law and protect the rights of those who may have been affected,” said DOJ Undersecretary Nicholas Felix Ty.

The DOJ also encouraged individuals with relevant information or documents to approach the agency through official channels or attend succeeding dialogues as part of its commitment to uphold transparency, justice, and public trust.
