Mayor Rida Robes committed to stable, clean water for CSJDM
FORMER lawmaker and now, City of San Jose del Monte first lady-mayor, Rida Robes, remains committed to solving the city’s perennial water supply problem by signing her first executive order establishing the San Jose del Monte Water Task Force.
“Ito ay hindi porma, ito ay paninindigan,” the mayor stressed.
She added even during her term as congresswoman and that of her husband, Arthur, as city mayor, they have been persistent in badgering all the concerned government agencies– Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA), Office of the Government Corporate Counsel (OGCC), National Water Resources Board (NWRB) and the Metropolitan Water and Sewerage System (MWSS)—to address the problem of water supply presently being provided by the Villar-owned company, Prime Water.
Robes also used her friendship with President Marcos that resulted to the Chief Executive ordering an investigation on Prime Water last April.
As a follow through, Robes also posted on her social media account last July 8 that she spearheaded a ‘Water Summit’ attended by LWUA officials and from the San Jose Water District, barangay officials and department heads to further address the issue.
Robes bewailed that it was the local government unit that is being blamed for the bad services of Prime Water and the reduced water allocation to the city by the NWRB.
“Matagal nang panahon na ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ang sumasalag at umiintindi sa problema ng tubig,” Robes noted.
“Huwag ninyo (LWUA/San Jose Water District) ituro sa amin, dahil hindi kami ang may problema, kayo,” Robes said.
