OMBUDSMAN REMULLA VERY MUCH ALIVE
Social media posts about death an ‘exaggeration’
THE report about his death was an exaggeration, as writer Mark Twain replied on reading his obituary in a newspaper report.
The same goes true for Ombudsman Jesus Crispin ‘Boying’ Remulla who is very much alive, contrary to the fake social media posts that circulated recently claiming he has been rushed to the hospital with some posts even claiming he has died.
Appearing last Saturday, January 3, on their regular ‘The Executive Session’ program that airs over DZRH, Remulla showed no signs of ill health, even saying this year would be “exciting” with many things “going to happen” as he buckles down to work on Monday, January 5, the start of regular office work.
“Exciting year, maraming mangyayari,” Remulla said, as he also bared that he had just been to the gym before proceeding to the radio program he co-hosts with Sen. JV Ejercito, former foreign affairs secretary Teddy Boy Locsin, interior undersecretary Dodo Dulay and former lawmaker Jonathan dela Cruz.
In a separate interview by the mainstream media, Remulla’s sibling, Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla also dismissed the nasty intrigue, saying his eldest brother is “in the pink of health.”
He said the Ombudsman can now play golf and just spend the holiday season with his family.
In 2023, Remulla underwent several heart bypass surgeries and even successfully recovered from his bout with cancer.
Until last October 7, 2025, Remulla is the country’s Justice Secretary. He replaced former Supreme Court Associate Justice Samuel Martires to the post of Ombudsman.
