Foolish for BBM to equate our interest with that of Taiwan

AMERICA’s “chihuahua,” Bongbong Marcos, continues to prance and bark upon each flick of his leash despite that last painful bite back from the Senate that crushed their pre-emptive impeachment regime change operation against Vice President Sara Duterte, the “champion” of Philippine sovereignty and exercise of its independent foreign policy.

Their two-year campaign of black propaganda and political maneuver to unseat and disqualify Sara for the 2028 elections collapsed, but meanwhile their other geopolitical plots continue.

US Imperialism is desperate to keep the genuinely independent Filipino political leaders of the country out of government and to retain the U.S. proxy Filipino politicians they have corrupted and controlled to execute their bidding in the country.

The US is doing this in the many countries they have dominated in many decades past but now are being challenged by independent-minded national and civil society leaders who have broken free and want to be rid of the neo-colonial power and its insidious “forever wars” to focus on peace and development.

Since the end of WWII, the US has been incessantly instigating proxy wars all over the world to create perennial destabilization that it also wants to control thru its self-imposed role as the “world policeman.”

But this “game” has been challenged by China’s global peace and development efforts through the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the BRICS economic alliance, the New Development Bank (NDB) to finance development in the global south, to help create a multipolar world and a “Community of Shared Future for Mankind.”

Notwithstanding their setback in the political front, the US-BBM proxy war conspiracy continues to expand their military-diplomatic build-up, adding missiles, ammunition dump and factory in the Philippines, constructing dual use ports in Batanes, Cagayan de Oro and Palawan, and strengthening our diplomatic ties with the soon-to-be-US-vassal-state of India where we are buying more ‘Brahmos’ missiles. India, of course, was beaten by Pakistan using Chinese made jets and missiles during their brief war last May.

While in India during his state visit this week, Bongbong Marcos, replying to a question about Taiwan said, “If there is an all-out war (across the Taiwan Strait), then the Philippines will be joined into it. We will have to defend our territory and our sovereignty.

“In addition, there are a large volume of Filipinos in Taiwan.”

Marcos is suffering from amnesia, blindly following any US order. He has forgotten that the Philippines continues to maintain a “One China Policy” recognizing only the People’s Republic of China and Taiwan as a part of China. There are about 160,000 Filipinos working in Taiwan as Marcos acknowledges.

Marcos has also forgotten that China is the Philippines’ top trading partner and direct importer of our products and that the issue of Taiwan is among China’s “core interests” and a “red line” that should not be crossed by anyone, including the United States.

He should keep out of the internal affairs of the Asian superpower which has been very tolerant of his government’s complicity with the US’ anti-China rabble rousing and provocations.

The stupidity of Bongbong Marcos to conflate and equate the issue of Taiwan to the defense of our territory and sovereignty! No one, except his inebriated mind, can see the connection.

China has never invaded the Philippines. On the other hand, our leaders, first among them Marcos Dayunyor, have allowed the return of our colonial master, the United States, to control and insult our sovereignty and dignity.
