Ordinary Pinoys always pay the cost of our servility

IF WHAT our officials, especially our friends in the national security and foreign policy establishments, get to read are only the ‘handouts’ from their bosses in the US Embassy on what is happening in the world and the lies being spread by the compliant mainstream media, no wonder they continue to live in ‘Cuckooland’ where the US Empire remains the  unshakeable bedrock of Global Capitalism and its leadership unbothered by any adversity.

Reality Check: America, despite the machismo of Donald Trump and his gangmates, is a fading empire, period.

When US Trade Secretary Scott Bessent and Trump ranted recently on China’s decision to effectively ban the export to the US and its subalterns of its ‘rare earth’ minerals, Bessent tried to frame the issue as China causing “damage” to the global economy.

This is not a demonstration of American strength. It is a cry of desperation, a demonstration of weakness.

But this is also where America, just like Zionist Israel, is really very good at—the “editing” or “cutting out” of historical facts to suit its own propaganda. Both wants to picture themselves as the “victim” and not the aggressor.

Bessent did not mention that it was the US’ unceasing determination, along with its Western subalterns, to clobber China back into Western submission since its founding in 1949 that puts us to where we are all now today.

Similarly, in the colored reporting of the incident last October 12 between Sandy Cay and Pag-asa Island (Thitu) in the South China Sea where two Philippine vessels were water-cannoned by the Chinese Coast Guard, the PCG just copy-pasted the style of Bessent and Israel: we are again the “victim” and not the trespasser.

What the PCG’s Jay Tarriela conveniently left out was that the two vessels were already intruding into the Chinese-claimed part of that area.

China’s rare earth mineral supplies are what is running the modern world, from ballistic missiles, and fighter jets to cellphones, computers, electric cars, batteries, and solar panels, among others.

Deprived of such, factories would have to stop operating, leading to closures and massive job losses. When everything starts to break down, a rebellion against the established order may not be far off the horizon.

Incidentally, the regulation on the use of China’s rare earth covers EVERYONE. Has this sink in into the consciousness of our leaders, including PBBM?

Have they thought about its impact on our own electronics industry, our prime export to the US?

Based on news reports, ALL companies using Chinese rare earth even in a fraction of less than one percent in the production process would have to first seek export clearance from China.

Now, given our own government’s organized campaign against China as ordered by the US, why would China make it easy for us to get approval?

Naisip ba ito ng Palasyo at ng mga katulad ni Jay Tarriela at Gibo Teodoro?

Paano kung hindi na tayo pagbigyan ng China, mga Bosing? Isara na lang ang mga pabrika, ganun na lang ba?

Always, the ordinary Pinoys would be paying the price for our servility to US Imperialism.
