₱47.436 million worth of ‘misdec’ frozen goods seized at Port of Subic

BUREAU Of Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno led the inspection last March 27 of seized assorted frozen goods from China worth ₱47.436 million at the Port of Subic.

The shipment, loaded in 4X40 reefer vans and totaling 3,192 cartons, were declared as “assorted shabu-shabu balls” but was found to also contain frozen beef, pork, chicken, duck, and other pastry and seafood items.

The operation stemmed from actionable intelligence received by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) regarding shipments containing misdeclared agricultural products.

Accompanying the Customs chief during the media presentation is Department of Agriculture Undersecretary Carlos Carag and other key Customs officials.
