FAR from being a ‘President of Peace’ and the “enemy” of the US terrorist ‘Deep State’ that he tried to project during his campaign for his second return to office last year, US President Donald Trump’s decision to join Israel in the military aggression against the sovereign Islamic Republic of Iran, showed to everyone for what he really is after all: Just another “slave” of the “system” that has plunged the United States to unending wars since the end of World War 2.
Iran, for all its demonization by the pliant Western mainstream media since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, has been sincere in entering into negotiations with America over its nuclear program. But on June 13, two days before potentially resolving the issue peacefully, it was attacked by Israel followed by the United States on June 22, the latter a significant date. On this day in 1941, Hitler betrayed Josef Stalin by launching ‘Operation Barbarossa,’ the Nazis’ military campaign to subjugate the Soviet Union.
Trump’s entry in the war against Iran is odious. Information now emerged that Israel and the US already has a “plan” to attack Iran as far back as March this year while the US and Iran are already engaged in diplomatic talks.
In short, the talks were all for “cover,” to give Iran a false sense of security while Israel and America ramp up their preparation for war.
Over Trump’s treachery, well-known economist Prof. John Mearsheimer correctly commented that only fools would ever trust the United States again. For who would ever trust a “deal maker” who always carry his “big stick” (US military) around, would drop bombs over your head any time he wishes while calling on you to make a “deal” for the sake of peace? What say you, China, Russia?

The unmasking of Trump also confirmed to the world that under the ‘rules-based-global order,’ there is ONLY ONE RULE: ‘MIGHT MAKES RIGHT.’
Too, Trump’s bellicosity highlighted again the increasing irrelevance of the United Nations (UN) where the US, Israel, and the EU violate with impunity its charter focused on respect for territorial integrity, national sovereignty, and the primacy of diplomacy to settle differences. Once again, the UN has been exposed as just another global debating club.
We may be harsh here but if it is any consolation to ‘The Donald,’ it is knowing that, in this side of the Pacific, Philippine officials continue to hold him in the highest esteem. They shamelessly parrot the rules-based global order any opportunity they can before international fora and stupidly believe and applaud any pronouncement US officials make.
But puppets cannot do otherwise, can they?
