THE Port of NAIA of the Bureau of Customs under Collector Atty. Yasmin O. Mapa, announced the successful interdiction of several shipments of illegal drugs with an aggregate value of more than P4.4 million at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) in Pasay City.

In a statement dated May 13, the agency said the illegal drugs consisted of 362 grams of heroin and 1,330 tablets of ‘Ecstasy’ in six separate parcels from Ireland, The Netherlands and Thailand and were declared variously as ‘skincare products,’ a ‘board game,’ and ‘plumbing materials’ labeled as “Sistema/Shower Set/Pipe Set” and “Kitchen Water Purifier.”

The contrabands have been turned over to the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the statement added.

The statement, however, failed to specify the actual date/dates of the apprehension or if any arrest was made.
