NATO, EU and Ukraine must end their ‘proxy’ war!

THE positive news for Russia today is the appreciation in value of the Russian currency. The Ruble, for the first time since the US and its Western allies imposed financial sanctions on Russia, has risen to below 100 to the US dollar.

This is a gigantic boost for Russia and a huge defeat for the West’s predictions of Russian financial and economic system collapse.

The Russian economy is adjusting adroitly led by Pres. Vladimir Putin’s economic and financial managers. Russia’s counter-move to demand Rubles for its export of LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) and oil to Germany, the E.U. and all “unfriendly” states will raise the value of the Ruble further. E.U. relies on Russia for 40 percent of its absolute basic energy needs.

India bought 4 times more Russian oil this year compared to last year, at up to 30 percent discount and for payment in Rupees.

The bonus for Russia is the backlash in India to U.S. insults and threats of sanctions to the Russia-India oil deal which is generating a great deal of anti-US sentiment (and even the QUAD is being shaken by this). The Russia-Saudi oil deal in “Rial,” the Saudi currency, is also looming on the horizon. As well, the China-Saudi oil deal to be paid in “Yuan,” China’s currency, is also being finalized.

The withdrawal of U.S. companies such as McDonalds are opening up new business prospects for Russians as the Russian government nationalizes such foreign companies and hand them over to Russian citizens with State financial support to restart the businesses. By the way, many U.S. companies such as Koch Industries still refuse to leave Russia.

Philippine public intellectuals and writers are organizing to protest at the E.U. Embassy and demand that NATO and Ukraine stop playing proxy to US “forever wars.”

The U.S. is now spreading the war fever in Asia using the bugaboo of Taiwan and South China Sea invasion by China. The warmongering is all U.S. hogwash. China is the sought-after mediator and peacemaker by all sides in the Ukraine crisis.

Below is the proposed manifesto I prepared for protest at the US Embassy:

NATO, EU and Ukraine must end their Proxy War!

The World outside of the Transatlantic Alliance, that is BRICS + comprising 70 percent of the globe, know the truth that the Ukraine War against Russia is part of the U.S. “forever wars” that will eventually spillover to Asia if it is not stopped today.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg’s March 23, 2022 statement that “Russia must understand that it can never win a nuclear war” demonstrates the depravity of the Transatlantic Alliance’s Zero-sum logic – as if there will be any winner in a nuclear war.

As NATO itself knows fully well, the crisis today focused on Ukraine is directly rooted in NATO’s 30-year long expansion to the borders of Russia threatening its repeatedly declared concern for its “indivisible security” which NATO and its sponsor, the US, have continued to press on.

For Russia and as expressed by President Vladimir Putin, this NATO expansion has become an “existential issue” which trumps all other political and moral questions some countries of the E.U. and the cantankerous U.S. raise about the right of every nation to choose it security alliances – but not at the cost of another country and nation’s fundamental sense of security and being.

Ukraine under Zelenskyy expressed its desire to acquire nuclear weapons in April of 2021, the prospect of such weapons 7-minutes flight time from Moscow would strike alarm in any leader of the Russian nation.

For no fault of its own and due to the neurotic demand of the US with its Western proxies for full restoration of global hegemony the Asian, African, Latin and South American nations are made to suffer unprecedented levels of inflation and economic stagnation coming after two-years of pandemic economic catastrophe.

Nations of the Global South have responded in the voice of South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa: “NATO is to blame for Russia’s war in Ukraine” which even E.U. Foreign Minister Josep Borrell echoed on March 11, 2022 “… we proposed and then could not implement, such as the promise that Ukraine and Georgia would become part of NATO …I think it’s a mistake…”

The E.U. and NATO can correct its mistake NOW: support Ukraine and Zelenskyy to say “NO” to America’s full court press to sustain the Ukraine war with massive arms advances to Ukraine’s neo-Nazi forces intent on its anti-Slavic pogroms and murder of peace-makers like Ukraine’s negotiating panel member Denys Kirieiev, killed by the SBU but declared a “hero” by other Ukrainians.

To our fellow Filipinos, we must ALL wake up to the very real threat that haunts our nation coming from the US “forever wars” and its local merchants, exert our enlightened and moral persuasion upon our government to represent our nation and the global community’s call to demand peace in our time and continue our Win-Win strategies to restore prosperity for all.
