COMPARING the survey reports on the public trust rating of House Speaker Martin Romualdez from Pulse Asia and from OCTA survey of around the same period, that is between December and November of 2024 respectively, Pulse Asia reported 31 percent trust rating for Romualdez and 58 percent by OCTA.
In its debut in 2020, OCTA humbly claimed that it is setting its “standard” with that of Pulse Asia and Social Weather Station (SWS), whatever “standard” that may be.
But beyond it is high ambition where it apparently produced poll results favoring the desperately unpopular but imbued with lots of resources to improve their public image.
Recently, OCTA is again in the headlines with a laughable report that “Majority of Pinoys back rejoining the ICC,” as if the question even matters to ordinary Filipinos.
The result, however, only matters to boost the BBM-ICC abduction of former President Rodrigo R. Duterte to the latter’s dungeon at the Hague.
The people felt overwhelming revulsion to the abduction that it triggered the massive backlash against Bongbong Marcos at home and with OFWs around the world that they supported instead the underdog “DuterTen” senatorial candidates in the May 12, midterm elections.
What matters to the Filipino people is the oppressive injustice done to former President Duterte. It is impossible for the Filipino people to support the return of the country to the ICC that continues to persecute their “Tatay Digong.”
Pulse Asia reports that 74 percent of the people disagreed with, and do not support, the abduction of Duterte to the ICC. This cannot align with the OCTA claim that 57 percent of Filipinos want the country to rejoin the ICC.
OCTA, apparently, got paid very handsomely to sacrifice its reputation, which was never shining anyway.
Let us also note that the post-March 12, 2025 Duterte abduction Pulse Asia survey (March 23 to March 29) showed the precipitous trust rating crash of the perceived perpetrators of Duterte’s abduction and transfer to the ICC:
Bongbong Marcos disapproval rating at 53 percent, undecided, 22 percent, and only 25 percent approval rating; Romualdez had a 54 percent disapproval rating, 31 percent, undecided and only 14 percent approval rating.
This post-abduction result reflects the public’s real sentiment about the ICC and the PBBM government’s cruel move to throw its own citizen and political leader to the cruelty of a foreign entity.
I subscribed to the popular description by African nations of the ICC as the ‘International Colonial Court’ designed to persecute uncompliant leaders of Third World countries (now called Global Majority).
Sometimes, it is also called the ‘International Caucasian Court’ as no White man is ever prosecuted in the ICC, only the ‘colored races’ like the Blacks and now the Browns in the person of Duterte.
OCTA’s latest survey is like a disease meant to infect the population with disinformation and misinformation. It has allowed itself to be used by vested interests to spread blatant falsehoods and lies.
It is helping lay the ground for the systematic reinjection of total colonial control of the country to drive it towards the next proxy war in this region for the profit of the US defense industry and refurbishment of the US financial oligarchy’s treasury.
All with the complete complicity of the Philippines’ economic, financial and political ruling class.
