₱20.65 million illegal drugs intercepted at CMEX

THE Port of NAIA announced the interception of three inbound parcels containing illegal drugs from Belgium, Malaysia and the United Kingdom valued at more than ₱20.65 million at the Central Mail Exchange (CMEX) in Pasay City.

In a social media post last April 12, the first parcel, which originated from Belgium and declared as “Pet Food,” was found to contain 1,978 pieces of suspected Ecstasy tablets with an estimated street value of ₱3,362,600.00.

The second parcel, shipped from Malaysia and declared as “Outdoor Wall Lamps,” was found to contain 2.418 kilos shabu, with an estimated street value of ₱16,442,400.00, while the third parcel, coming from the United Kingdom and declared as “Game,” contained 497 pieces of suspected Ecstasy tablets with an estimated street value of ₱844,900.00.

District Collector Atty. Yasmin O. Mapa said the illegal drugs have been turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for laboratory examination and proper disposition.
